You have requested to participate in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, training sessions, fitness sessions, seminars, sparring, drills, excursions, or other related physical activities (the “Activities”) offered, organised, hosted or promoted by Roll In Paradise, its owners, staff, coaches, contractors, representatives, venue partners, or third-party providers.

By booking, attending, participating in, or otherwise taking part in any Activities, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk

You understand and acknowledge that participation in martial arts, fitness training, travel-related events, and physical activities carries inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, injury, illness, permanent disability, or death.

These risks may arise from, without limitation:

• Physical contact with coaches or participants

• Falls, takedowns, submissions, or sparring exchanges

• Equipment failure or unsafe surfaces

• Overexertion or dehydration

• Weather conditions, including heat and humidity

• Travel-related incidents

• Actions of other participants

• Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings

You voluntarily assume all such risks.

1. Nature of Martial Arts Training

You understand that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and related combat sports involve grappling, pressure, joint locks, takedowns, positional control, and physical exertion which may result in minor or serious injury.

Possible injuries include, but are not limited to:

• Cuts, bruises, strains, sprains

• Dislocations

• Fractures

• Concussion

• Torn ligaments or muscles

• Neck or spinal injury

• Serious medical complications

You knowingly accept these risks.

1. Medical Fitness to Participate

You confirm that you are physically and medically fit to participate in the Activities.

You understand that Roll In Paradise recommends that participants seek appropriate medical advice before attending if they have any concerns regarding health, fitness, injury, or medical conditions.

1. Duty to Self-Assess

You agree that it is your responsibility to assess whether you are able to safely participate in any session or activity.

If at any time you feel unable to participate safely, you agree to stop immediately and notify a member of staff or a coach.

1. Disclosure of Conditions

You agree to disclose any relevant injuries, medical conditions, allergies, limitations, or other circumstances that may affect your participation or safety.

Failure to disclose relevant information is entirely at your own risk.

1. No Participation Under Influence

You must not participate in any Activities while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair judgment, coordination, or safe participation.

Roll In Paradise reserves the right to refuse participation where safety concerns arise.

1. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and discharge Roll In Paradise, its owners, employees, contractors, coaches, venue partners, sponsors, affiliates, and representatives from any claim, demand, liability, loss, injury, damage, cost, or expense arising out of or connected with your participation in the Activities.

Nothing in this waiver excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.

1. Personal Property

You acknowledge that all personal belongings are brought and used entirely at your own risk.

Roll In Paradise accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

1. Third-Party Venues & Services

Some Activities may take place at third-party venues or involve third-party services including gyms, hotels, transport providers, excursion operators, or wellness providers.

You acknowledge that such third parties may have their own terms and conditions, and Roll In Paradise is not responsible for their acts or omissions.

10. Emergency Assistance

If an injury or medical issue occurs, you authorise Roll In Paradise staff to seek reasonable emergency assistance on your behalf if required.

Any medical treatment or associated costs remain your responsibility.

11. Severability

If any part of this waiver is found unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

12. Acceptance

By ticking the acceptance box during checkout, making payment, or attending the retreat, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Liability Waiver & Release.
